The B2MeM mods are seeking responses from the community about where and how B2MeM should be hosted next year. (B2MeM will definitely happen -- that's not in question! But it could be on LiveJournal or Dreamwidth.)

I have just discovered that you can make a DW feed of a Tumblr account. In other words, I can now follow Tumblr accounts on DW. And I've just had confirmation that it works! :D

There are very few Tumblr accounts I'd want to follow. But the point is, I can! Legendariumladiesapril is definitely getting added, maybe a few others. It's much, much easier for me to follow things when I can just see it show up on my reading list than when I have to bookmark it and remember to check back. I am pleased.

(DW makes it very, very easy to add an RSS feed to your reading list. On LJ, it was a pain and only paid accounts could do it. I feel like I've been handed a small Ring of Power.)

I heard about this from independence1776: Apparently LJ has started suspending accounts that post links to non-LJ sites. There are also claims that posting a link even in a locked entry can get you suspended.

This is idiotic, because a lot of people (including me) like to share fun links with their friends. Are they trying to lose users? I intend to carry on as normal; if LJ suspends my account, I'll be annoyed for nostalgia reasons, but it's all backed up here on DW.

I've been reading through the fics for the Fandom 5K Exchange, and here are two that I enjoyed: one for Babylon 5 about Valen in his early days on Minbarr, and one original work about a princess determined to take back her kingdom, who makes a political marriage with the princess of another people -- I loved the world-building here.
